David Langford has been shortlisted for the Best Fan Writer Hugo each year since 1979. Twll-Ddu was shortlisted as Best Fanzine in 1979, and Ansible in 1984, 1985, 1994, 1997, 1998, and 2000-2002. In 2003 Ansible moved to the Best Semiprozine shortlist, and continues (2007) to appear there. Let's Hear It for the Deaf Man was shortlisted as Best Non-Fiction in 1993, and ultimately placed second; The Silence of the Langford was shortlisted as Best Non-Fiction in 1997, and The SEX Column as Best Related Book in 2006.
